Start with a strong dose of lyrical singer-songwriter acoustic folk. Add a helping of catchy hooks mixed with modern rock arrangements and searing, soulful vocals. Then package everything in a hot-rod Americana string band format featuring some of the Southeast’s finest bluegrass pickers and rockers. The finished product is a smooth Americana blend like fine whiskey, called Soul-Country Pimpgrass!
Over the course of his career, Jed has recorded, opened for, and/or shared the stage with an extremely wide range of artists including members of Steep Canyon Rangers, Ben Folds Five, The Spin Doctors, Leftover Salmon, The Infamous Stringdusters, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Town Mountain, Jon Stickley Trio, Rotary Connection, Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band, The Duhks, The Waybacks, The Mantras, Marshall Tucker Band, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Seth Yacovone Band, Hayseed Dixie, Big Ol' Nasty Getdown, Underhill Rose, 23 Skidoo, Big Something, The Blue Rags, and Songs From the Road Band.
A Tennessee native currently living in Raleigh, NC, Jed's third release, Stronger, is his most personal recording to date. It tells an abstract tale over the course of 5 songs that focuses on his struggles as a nomad-troubadour; allowing fate, faith, and the allure of his artistic muse to dictate a random course across the eastern portion of the United States. Fusing styles ranging from bluegrassy ragtime and gypsy jazz to crooning singer/songwriter folk and Unplugged era grunge rock, Jed cooks a potent acoustic brew.
Jed's music was also recently featured in the A&E reality television smash, Duck Dynasty, and in Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's new show on TNT, Wakeup Call.
